1) In this article it explains why we cant get to Mars’s water because of many reasons. First we don’t have the right rover’s to be able to make it down the steep banks of where the hypothesized water is. Second treaty’s get in the way. The Outer Space Treaty which lays out the rules for space exploration along with rules of cooperation, states that we have to avoid earth contamination. What do I mean by that? Well its been proven that some bacteria can live in space for up to 18 months and is very hard at sterilizing so much that there isn’t any sure fire way to get rid of it without using heat. If they used heat it will damage precious instruments. Even so this wont stop them from trying and maybe one day they’ll be able to send the proper rover to discover this “water” on Mars!
2) In my opinion this is a big step forward to finding life on other planets and might even lead to the future development of being able to live on Mars off a sustainable water source. even if it is 10 years into the future. Perhaps il still be alive when this happens, that would be a sight to see.
3) I hope that the scientists find what they need and continue following this lead because I believe it can lead to great things.
